Our second, real digitization project builds on our experience with Construction of lever handles suitable for escape doors at the Weltmuseum Wien (WMW). Below you can read how escape door suitability and fire protection suitability according to EN179 can be ensured by means of 3D printing.

With many door fittings (door handles with door signs or rosettes), the handles “wear out” due to constant use, i.e. The existing fixation of the handles by means of a handle plate and the guide eyelets mounted thereon no longer fulfills the function of stable guidance of the handles when opening and closing the door. Parliament renovation Vienna

Ein besonders spannendes Projekt dürfen wir hier vorstellen: Im Zuge der Sanierung des Parlaments In Vienna, existing historic fittings should be upgraded and adapted to new technical requirements.

Dafür gab es ein sehr enges Zeitkorsett, aber dank unserer fleißigen Mitarbeiter, vor allem im Werkzeug- und Formenbau können wir  – ohne Digitalisierung – auch hier noch zeitgerecht alle Musterteile erstellen.

Weltmuseum Wien

Order: "Construction of a historic door handle suitable for escape doors according to EN179"

In February 2017 we will start working on this fitting for the Weltmuseum Wien. Der vorhandene Türdrücker muss zunächst einmal brandschutztauglich werden – diese Vorgabe nach EN179 werden wir lösen, indem wir den neuen Türdrücker nicht in Messing, sondern in Bronze gießen – mit einer Bronzelegierung, deren Schmelzpunkt über 1.000° Celsius liegt, dann bekommen wir dafür alle Brandschutzzertifikate.

Analyse und Baubeschreibung – Projekt in Wien

I – Aktueller Zustand der Beschläge vor Baubeginn

Nach den Gesichtspunkten des Bundesdenkmalamtes könnte man wie folgt beschreiben:

Über 100 Jahre Benützung sind auch an den Beschlägen nicht spurlos vorübergegangen. Starke Abnutzung der Griffe an jenen Türen, die an den Hauptwegen liegen, Fehlerhaftigkeit bzw. teilweises Fehlen einzelner Beschläge. Durch unsachgemäße Benutzung sind verschiedene Beschläge auch verformt bzw. teilweise abgebrochen. Größtes Manko allerdings stellt die fehlende Funktionalität dar – große Benutzerfrequenz und schlechte Befestigung führen zu sehr „wackeligen“ Beschlägen.

Regionsspezifische Beschläge für Fenster und Türen

If you were looking for fittings for your country house in Bavaria, you had to look for a producer from the Bavarian region. Regionalization, a concept that was fundamentally positive, was inevitable at the time and at the same time meant restricting it to exclusively existing possibilities.

The same was true for Austria, Switzerland, northern Germany and also for South Tyrol. In each region, the typical for them over time Forged developed for windows and doors. There are now many different hardware designs depending on the area of application. From the customer's point of view, this meant a restriction to the existing regional offer, which could be well developed or sparse depending on the region.
